SUMMARY

Over fifteen years experience designing and coding commercial ISV applications. Design experience includes business analysis, architecture design and production of complete functional and technical documentation.  Languages include: C#, VB.NET, VB6 and RPGIII.

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

Toptech Systems Inc., Longwood Florida                                               January 2007 – Present

Senior Software Engineer

Designed and coded Windows applications and components for terminal automation systems. These commercial database products used mySQL5 DBMS.

·         Designed and coded .NET 2.0 applications and components using C#.

·         Designed and documented Entity Relationships for new database requirements.

·         Designed and coded standard utilities to increase product quality and programmer productivity.

Major Accomplishments:

·         Envisioned, designed and implemented a data dictionary based on system wide data points.

·         Designed and implemented the maintenance screens and background processing for handling the data point meta-data. This system was used to implement system level multi-language capability, user defined required fields, field level security, new record defaults and to manage help text indexes.

·         Designed and implemented a Data Access Layer (DAL) that separated data access from the application business logic. Several of the unique features of this DAL were: support for configurable queried columns and configurable list columns in the user interface. The user could dynamically control which data columns appeared in the list and their order. Column configuration supported queried, hidden and calculated columns.

·         Conceptualized, designed and implemented a meta-data driven Entity Relationship editor that was used to generate ER documentation, generate custom DAL code using external templates and generate database Data Definition Language and DAL stored procedures.

·         Designed and coded a significant portion of the new client application user interface that utilized the new DAL and data point processing features.

Fiserv Lending Solutions, Orlando Florida                                          July 2000 – January 2007

Lead Software Analyst

Designed and coded Windows n-tier applications and components for financial lending software systems. These commercial database products used SQL Anywhere, ASA and SQLServer DBMS'.

·         Designed and coded .NET 1.1 / 2.0 applications and n-tier (remoting) components using C#.

·         Designed and coded VB6 applications and n-tier COM components.

·         Designed and coded enhancements for Consumer and Mortgage lending software.

·         Designed and documented Entity Relationships for new database requirements.

Major Accomplishments:

·         Architect and principle programmer for a new .NET mortgage fulfillment services ordering product using OOP and SOA (XML serialization and HTTPS Post) to communicate with a third-party web service. This was written in C# and exposed an interface using COM-interop to allow it to be integrated with both .NET and COM based host systems.

·         Architect for the n-tier component design and principle component programmer for a new loan origination document data mapping solution.

·         Led the design team in developing and documenting the new logical data model and physical tables for the new document mapping solution.

·         Designed and coded .NET and COM+ common data access layer components, which significantly reduced the development requirements for implementing n-tier, data access using ADO.NET and ADO.

·         Researched, prepared and conducted developer training classes in C#, VB.NET and VB6.

Equitrac Corporation, Orlando Florida                                             November 1999 – July 2000

Software Architect

Designed and coded Windows n-tier applications and COM components for printer cost recovery accounting systems. These commercial database products used Access and SQLServer DBMS'.

·         Designed and coded n-tier COM+ components in VB6 to provide common functionality for two printer-tracking products.

·         Designed and documented Entity Relationships for new database requirements.

Major Accomplishments:

·         Led the design team in developing and documenting the new logical data model and physical database for a new release of the premier printer-tracking product.

·         Designed and coded common data access COM+ components, which significantly reduced the development requirements for implementing n-tier, data access using DAO and ADO.

Avio International Corporation, Orlando Florida                     December 1995 - November 1999

Software Architect

Designed and coded Windows n-tier applications and COM components for the HMO and PPO Healthcare industry. These distributed database products used SQLServer DBMS.

·         Designed and coded COM components in VB6 to provide common functionality for all applications in the product suite.

·         Designed and documented Entity Relationships for new database requirements.

·         Designed and coded standard utilities to increase product quality and programmer productivity.

Major Accomplishments:

·         Led the initial design team in developing and documenting the new logical data model and physical database for a complete rewrite and major new functionality release of the clinical product. This included creating and updating the ER design for the 120+ table database.

·         Wrote complete 130-page user interface design for the Clinical Manager product, which included the design for all maintenance windows and dialogs with complete functional descriptions.

·         Designed and coded common data access COM components, which significantly reduced the development requirements for implementing n-tier, MTS data access using ADO. Also designed and coded a VB add-in using SQL-DMO, which generated functionally complete class modules for type safe data access.

·         Designed and coded a powerful build utility, which utilized the Visual Studio object model SourceSafe object model and VB6 command line to completely automate the configuration management build processes. This utility tracked, analyzed and built COM dependencies to any level to detect and prevent GUID incompatibilities.
